Long range planning was essential for the success of my practicum as it allowed me to look at the curriculum and think about it critically in order to create the best learning opportunities possible for students. It let me set up a strong foundation of understanding the content and creating lessons as a basis upon entering my practicum. It was essential throughout to adjust my lessons and assessments in order to fit the needs of the students. Once I got to know each student and their specific needs, I was able to adjust my lesson and incorporate different activities that best suited the students. Having an initial guideline was important to continue to reflect on as it helped keep me on track and headed in the right direction throughout my practicum, while also giving me the freedom to adjust accordingly.
